DESCRIPTION
This drug relaxes the bronchial system, reduces inflammatory response in the lungs, and decreases hyper-responsiveness.
POTENTIAL SIDE EFFECTS
Headache, dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting, upset stomach, hives, rashes, infection.
CAUTIONS
- Not for use in the treatment of acute asthma attacks.
- Patients older than 55 years appear to be at increased risk of developing infections during therapy.
- Notify your doctor if you have liver impairment/disease.
- Report any signs of possible liver toxicity during therapy, including right upper quadrant abdominal pain, nausea, fatigue, lethargy, jaundice, etc.
- In rare instances, this drug has been associated with developing a blood disorder called eosinophilia.

erythromycin, theophylline,
warfarin
FOOD INTERACTIONS
Absorption decreased when taken with food. Take greater than one hour before or two hours after meals.

PREGNANCY AND BREAST-FEEDING CAUTIONS
FDA Pregnancy Risk Category B. Excreted in breast milk. Do not breast-feed during therapy.
SPECIAL INFORMATION
Do not stop taking other anti-asthmatic drugs unless directed by physicians.
